We started this project without knowing the outcome. Would it be possible? Where will the construction money come from? Who will help us? Where will we find all the materials we wish to use?
These questions were ongoing and relentless, but what I found to be most inspiring, was the willingness of others to help out with our project.
This certainly wasn't a "pro bono" project, by any means! But we had good people, giving us their best work, at their best rate. I was always working alongside my friends, when I had the luxury to pay for help. I believe this is a fantastic way to build a home. A bit of owner contribution, and a bit of professional help makes the construction more fun, more accountable, and provides an invaluable life experience.
